 Jean McClelland is a renowned teacher of voice, a senior teacher of the Alexander Technique, and a noted musical theater performer. She is on the faculty of the Graduate Department of Theater, Columbia University. Jean has given workshops at drama and music schools, universities and holistic learning centers throughout the country.

I truly believe that there can be no greater joy than to sing and speak freely and spontaneously. Developing a physical understanding of breath support helps us to become more musical and truthful singers, no matter what the style, and more engaging and committed speakers. A Video Course: The Inspiration of Breath

A few years ago, the New York Open Center invited me to develop a course for their new online division where students throughout the world could access Open Center offerings at any time.  I knew instantly what I wanted to do.  Helping students understand breathing had become my passion, and I created a video course where students were able to work along with me as I guided them in meditations and exercises to open their bodies and free and strengthen their breathing and voice.  Written materials clarified the exercises so that participants could appreciate fully the miracle of breathing.  Read More
